Big day...

First a quick picture of my ultra-cute nephew! He is on a ventalator, but should be off soon.

I am so in love!

Second... It is Monday, and Cy's little cousin is growing (hopefully)...

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

Update!

Its a Boy!

Cyrus James was born at 5:21pm weighing 5 pound 15 ounces... Mom, dad and baby are doing well! I can't wait to see him tomorrow after school!

Auntie Amy

I am going to be an aunt today! My big bro and his wife are in labor right now and by tonight I should have my very first niece or nephew. I can't wait!

On another note though... Tony's dad is not feeling well so he went to the hospital today... We are hoping all is well with that...

I'll update soon.

Goodbye Embryo... Hello Fetus!

Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!
I love that every Monday I grow one week closer to becoming a mom...
I can't wait for Feb. 3rd to roll around so we can check on the little one...

Holy Explicit Dreams...

So lately I have been experiencing some explicit vivid dreams... I just don't know what to think about these... At first I blamed them on Tony being gone for the week, but he is back and they are still there... Yikes!

Also... I have noticed that since becoming pregnant I haven't been swearing as much... Well at least in blog land... What the fuck is up with that? Swearing is like my second hobby...

Cold Day

I love being a teacher... Especially in the upper Midwest where temps and snow can give me a day off... On Tuesday, I went to the doctor... We set-up a barrage of appointments and another ultrasound for Feb. 3rd... I can't wait to see if things are progressing... I feel tired and I am constipated, but I really have no other symptoms... This of course makes me worry, but I know I can't control this anyways, so I have resorted for just being thankful that I am pregnant everyday instead...

Week 8...

Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Hopefully this little one is growing inside of me... I certainly don't feel pregnant anymore... Any symptoms I had, have disappeared... I have an appointment tomorrow with my regular OB, hopefully she will give me another ultrasound soon...

Success!

Notice that I am 7 weeks and 2 days today (making our new due date Aug. 24th now) and the baby is 11.10mm long...
I am so in love already!

I am still PREGNANT!!!

Today everything looked great! We both got to see and hear the heartbeat. It was ticking away at 150 beats per minute. I have also been released from the specialist to go see my regular OB. There are no words to describe how elated I am...
Hopefully it won't be too long before we check on the little peanut again...

PS: I will attach a picture as soon as Blogger lets me...

7 Weeks Today...

I am so thankful to be seven weeks pregnant today...

We have an ultrasound tomorrow at 3pm and I am on pins and needles. I hope this baby is growing and developing. I feel pretty good with few symptoms. Honestly, I think my symptoms could perhaps even be more in my head than actual. I still have tender breasts and I have to urinate quite frequently, but other than that things seem pretty normal. I also have small bouts with constipation and fatigue and a tiny bit of nausea. I almost wish I felt like shit because I would be more assured that I was indeed pregnant. It just doesn't seem real yet.

Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Shower...

Today was the day that we had a double shower for my sister-in-laws.

I am very sad that I couldn't be a part of that celebration as a mom, but it was definitely easier to bare the day being pregnant.

I am so excited to become an aunt and I am so happy for my brothers and SILs.

And I know our little one will make her debut in time.

We get to peek at our little one on Wednesday! I can't wait!

A Proper Update...

I have been lagging on my blogging lately...
So here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment...

As I mentioned previously, I am obsessed with peeing on sticks... Here is proof...

This is my first positive... The line is barely there, but a line is a line...

And another of me... Very Happy...

Here is the ultrasound picture at 5weeks 6 days...

So now for the big story... Better late than never right?

It was Sunday evening (December 14th) and I had to run into town to go to school to get some documents off of my school computer. Since I had been peeing on sticks like a mad woman and I was in town, I decided to stop at the Dollar Store to stock up. When I got home later, I was inspired to pee on a stick since I had 10 or so to spare and 2 lines appeared. I then texted Tony and told him the news since I couldn't wait for him to get home to spill. The next day I got my HCG test and the numbers looked great and the repeat test a week later also showed good numbers. On the day I got my repeat HCG test, they also tested my blood for some other issues that may cause me to miscarry. Then the very next day (Tuesday, Dec. 23rd) I started spotting bright red after cleaning my house. I was so scarred that this was not going to happen, but the spotting stopped and has only happened once since. Finally we got to see the heartbeat on the ultrasound on Dec 29th. The doctor congratulated us and put me on progesterone. He also said to continue to take the baby aspirin daily since once of my test indicated I have a Lupus Anticoagulant issue. Currently I am feeling good. I am tired, I urinate frequently and I have tender breasts, but I am feeling good and I am very thankful this is heading in the right direction.
