2 years and 6 months...

I now have a two year old in my house! Can you say AWESOME? I can't believe two years have gone by since lil Charlie joined this world. He runs, and laughs and talks and he is just amazing! We celebrated his birthday with 20 of our closest peeps. Even though it is totally against every manner guide, I asked for limited toys... We are really overloaded with toys and have little space to store anything else. Plus, I am against most toys with batteries and end up banishing them to the basement where they see little use. He didn't really notice. He ate massive amounts of cake at his party and played with balloons and jumped in his bounce house. His smile told me that he had a blast! He is just a little charmer!
Our little Ms. Six Month Old Evie is teething! She got her first tooth a couple of days ago, and let me tell ya, she has slept like shit through this process. Poor kid and poor mom... Now that I am back to work, I can't slide those afternoon naps in and bedtime can't come quick enough. She is such a sweet, pleasant baby, but I can't help but feel like she only tolerates me. She is a daddy's girl all they way... She does flash the best smiles that warm your heart. She is rolling and almost sitting. She is interested in everything her bother does which is very endearing to me because they get along so well right now (I know this won't last). She also, finally has a bedroom. Charlie is now in a big boy bed and Evie has a pink room. Even though she is still sleeping with us most of the time, I am hoping soon she'll start to get sick of her daddy's snoring and my constant bed hogging and want to sleep in her own space.

Just another day in the life of the Murph's... Paradise!

Up North!

We are on our way up north as I'm blogging. Thank heaven for IPhones! This will be a much needed break before the craziness of school starts again. Up north is always fun filled family time with no obligations of home life and I definitely need this time. Being at home has been extremely taxing lately. I think any mom who has lost 5 months of sleep living with a teething baby probably feels like me right now, but I have extreme guilt because I feel this way. I never take a moment with my children for granted because I know what a true blessing they are and how lucky we are to have both of them, but I am just in need of a little break. Tony has been working mad-crazy hours and sometimes I feel like a single mom. He has been gearing up to travel to Germany for work which is an amazing opportunity, but holy Hannah his job is demanding. As P-Diddy says, "More money, more problems."

Anyways... Enough of the whining...

My baby boy is almost two! Where had the time gone? I love that he and I hold tiny two year old conversations (mostly about trucks, trains and tractors) and I love his sense of humor. I also love how he mimics everything including some choice swear words that his momma may have uttered once or twice.

My baby girl is almost 6 months old and still refusing the bottle even when it has boob juice in it. I do believe she is also popping a bottom tooth. We are really working on a routine, but she is her momma's daughter and her strong will tells us that she'll eat and sleep when she is damned well ready.

That's all for now! We are almost there!

Formula is not poison!

Dear Stubborn Girl of Mine,
Formula is not poison! Since you refuse to drink it, you cannot get any teeth because in case you didn't know, your momma has serious issues with breastfeeding and teeth.
Thanks and love,
Momma

But seriously... It's just formula. We've tried every kind out there and she refuses them all. She is as stubborn as me... Oh the teen years should be fun!

Catching up...

So it has been quite a while (hello 4 months) since I updated, but cut me some slack. Being a mom of 2 is busy work. I am just going to break it down simple style since I really should be working on my thesis instead of leisurely catching up on blogging...

May:
Tony and I had our first date night away from the kiddos
I got my hair chopped ridiculously short to make mornings easier
Mother's Day was celebrated with breakfast in bed, flowers and chocolate
Evie got baptized
I went back to work...
Charlie adores tractors and all things outside

June:
Summer break started!
We attended a massive amount of open houses and weddings (one in which I was the minister)!
Father's day was celebrated with a huge cookout/ pool party with family
Evie started rolling, and sticking her tongue out, and blowing raspberries
Charlie adores holding his "sissy" and opening the refrigerator for snacks

July:
We celebrated the 4th at the beach with friends
Tony and I celebrated 5 married years together (14 total years together)
Evie started screaming in her little voice, got her ears pierced and tried solid food
Much to my dismay, Charlie loves to entertain his sissy by jumping on her bouncers while she's in them and sitting on her for horsey rides...
My new nephew was born and my dad had a stroke

August:
We are seriously considering buying investment land.
Tony is working some mad crazy hours
Grandpa has recovered well so far from his stroke
Evie is eating like a champ
Charlie is talking up a storm and we can hardly believe he'll be two soon

So there is a down and dirty of what's up. It is crazy around here and I love every sleepless moment of it!

She looks like she's terrified of him, but really she is fascinated by him.

Yes that is Dorito dust on his face and perhaps my daughter's first real underwear (diaper) flash (Hollywood here she comes!), but what a couple of cute kiddos!

What a ride!

Okay so though it is a month overdue, here is the story about the day Evie entered the world:
February 28th - Nest, nest, nest! House is totally cleaned and I am praying this baby stays put until the schedule c-section On March 8th... No dice...
March 2nd 5:00am - Get up and get ready for work like normal.
Take Charlie to my bro and sister-in-law's and drop him off quick to avoid the tears that are a new thing for us...
As I am making my quick escape I think " hmmm maybe I should go back in and pee because I am leaking a Lil bit... Nah, I'll hold it until school."
Waddle into my classroom and promptly to the bathroom leaking all the way.
I then decide I need to go back home and change my pants because I am sure I have pissed them. So then I call my BFF who is also my co-teacher down to my room and only then does it occur to me that my water may have broke. She rushed down just in time to convince me to call my Obgyn. I did and then, after cleaning my house an a quick trip to Burger King to fulfill a craving, we finally made it to the hospital. Since I had no contractions my option were a repeat c-section or induction...
Fuck Pitocin... I opted for the c-section which resulted in a totally pain free delivery and a beautiful girl named Evelyn. The stay the hospital was less than steller (a story for a different day) but the recovery has been good. I am now, seven weeks later, a pro at being a mom of two little blessings. I even have gone grocery shopping alone with both babies!

Holy Hannah - I am having a baby!

Not right now of course because I am blogging...
But within the next week, I will have a baby in my arms...
Not just a baby, but my baby girl Evelyn "Evie" Elizabeth.

I am nesting like crazy. My house has never been this clean - ever! With a toddler, I highly doubt it will stay this clean for much longer than his nap time.

I think we are as ready as we can be for the big event. Arrangements have been made for Charlie's care, my bag is pretty much packed, my birth plan is good to go and, well, I am just ready to smooch her little chubby cheeks. As of last week, I haven't really dilated or anything yet, but my doctor said that could change within hours and she is in the right position. If I go into labor on my own, we'll try for a VBAC. If not, my C-section is scheduled for next Tuesday at 7:30am sharp.I refuse to be induced... I never ever want to go through that hell again. I am good with delivering either way as long as the result is a happy healthy baby.

This will sound crazy, but the thing I am most nervous for is leaving Charlie. He'll be in good hands, but the longest I have been away from him is overnight. If I have a c-section, I will be in the hospital for about three days and even though he'll visit, I am going to miss his smile and goofy demeanor during my stay. Plus, I'll leave here having him as my baby and when I get back, he'll be my big boy and quite honestly, I am just not ready for that.

We are so blessed. When I look back at where we were to where we are, I can't help but think that I am the luckiest person in the world. More updates coming soon!

Cravings...

I must have these things before I stop being pregnant in a few weeks:
Mancino's Turkey Grinder
Cold Stone Ice Cream
Pad Thai Chicken
Strawberry SourPatch Straws

Evie's bag is packed... Tony's bag is ready... Momma's is untouched...

I am as big as a house currently and I am not just saying that... There is no more room for her in me... Everything is squished. In three weeks exactly we will definetley have a baby in our arms!

Woot!

4 Weeks...

Preparing...

I can't believe that in about a month our girl will be here. I know I sound like a broken record on my blog, but we are just so incredible blessed. 3 years ago, we were in a much different place. Now we get the privilege of having a little boy who hugs and kisses us everyday and a little girl who will be snuggling close soon. I am so ecstatic, but also scarred. I can't believe we are bravely going to juggle two under two. I am also freaking out over the fact that I have to leave Charlie for a few days while Evie is born. I have only ever been away from him overnight and three days away will be really hard. He will visit, but I am not used to being away from him that long. The next on my to-do list is to pack my hospital bag. This week marks the start of weekly appointments so I'll be updating!

Kick, Jab, Elbow!

Our little Evie is a mover! Charlie never moved this much and Evie never stops. I love that she is her own spunky person even before she is out in this world. I am still freaking out at the idea that she is going to be in or lives soon. We have nothing ready and I have no idea how I am going to do it, but yet somehow I am calm... Somehow all that I can think about is how grateful I am that our family is expanding... I'm not worried about her room because I know she'll always have a loving set of arms to sleep in and honestly, not much else matters...

We should however get some more clothes because I do fear that she'll be wearing only diapers or Charlie's out of season boy hand-me-downs...

Charlie is also AMAZING! He is learning so much and growing so big! He knows body parts (head, ears, nose) and follows simple directions (throw this away please). He has his father's goofy disposition and mine anal retentiveness. And did I mention how cute he is?

His chubby cheeks melt me.
He gives kisses and hugs and say "hi" and "uh oh".

I am so incredibly blessed.

I am also so incrediably pregnant.

Due date is March 1st - C-Section is scheduled for the 8th - I bet she joins us in February!
